To help the telecommunications industry meet new market demands, Decisionoism Inc. will deliver OLAP-based analytical solutions. The first application under development is NetWatch, a network switch integrity application that monitors and analyzes usage transactions processed on network switches, identifying problem areas that could result in millions of dollars of revenue loss or billing errors. Other applications will follow. Industry deregulation, demand for new products and services, and mergers and acquisitions are requiring telecom companies to increase the speed and accuracy of market-based decisions, according to Bob Moran, vice president of the Aberdeen Group's Decision Support Research. Decisionoism can leverage Aclue Decision Supportware, its core product, to enter the telecom market, focus on developing specific revenue assurance and market intelligence applications, and deliver quick returns on investment, according to Gordon Rapkin, Decisionoism president and CEO. "Our tools will help companies extract value, create Business Intelligence, and enhance decision-making capabilities from the transactional detail that's already present in their operational systems and data warehouses," says Bruce Rylander, Decisionoism's new Telecommunications Applications director. Aclue Decision Supportware enables rapid creation, delivery, and management of analytical applications that share consistent, synchronized corporate data, and supports leading OLAP server technologies-Oracle Express, SQL Server 7.0 OLAP Services, and Hyperion Essbase.
