In this new online training class, you will quickly get up to speed on the new features in SQL Server 2014. You will learn about the editions as well how to start using the In-Memory OLTP engine for improved application performance. You also will see how to take advantage of the enhancements to AlwaysOn Availability Groups for improved availability.

Session 1: SQL Server 2014 New Features, Editions, and Licensing
This introductory session provides an overview of all of the major new features in SQL Server 2014. You’ll learn which features are included in which editions of SQL Server 2014. Finally, you’ll get a look at some of the common licensing scenarios for SQL Server 2014 with virtualization and AlwaysOn.
Session 2: Getting Started with In-Memory OLTP
In this session you'll learn how the new In-Memory OLTP engine works. You’ll see how to use the new AMR (Analyze, Migrate, Report) tool to analyze your tables and stored procedures and then migrate them to the new memory-optimized format. Finally, you’ll see how to track the performance of your memory-optimized databases.
Session 3: AlwaysOn and Backup Integration with Windows Azure
In this session you’ll learn about the new AlwaysOn Availability Groups and backup features in SQL Server 2014. You’ll see how to use the compression and encryption features in SQL Server 2014’s backup. Next, you’ll see how the new AlwaysOn Availability Groups can leverage on-premise replicas for high availability (HA) and Azure replicas for disaster recovery (DR).
