Wonderware announced that its executive vice president and chief sales and marketing officer, Joe Cowan, will replace Roy H. Slavin as CEO and president of Wonderware on April 1, 2001, at the expiration of Slavin’s three-year contract with Wonderware. The early announcement was made to ensure an orderly transition of leadership. “Wonderware is clearly in good hands. Joe Cowan is an outstanding executive and has the leadership skills to drive Wonderware’s growth,“ Slavin said. Cowan has been with Wonderware since 1993 and has progressively held higher management positions. Before joining Wonderware, Cowan held sales and marketing management positions with Texas Instruments, Eurotherm, Monsanto, and Honeywell Information Systems. He holds a master of science degree in electrical engineering from Arizona State University. “Wonderware is in a pivotal position in our industry and I’m proud to be leading the Wonderware team as we follow through on initiatives that have grown and nurtured under Roy’s dynamic leadership,” Cowan said.
