Action Type Description
URL Returns a URL that the code executes. You can use this action to discover more information about the cell (e.g., show a Web map containing the customer location).
HTML Returns an HTML string that the code can save to a file. You can use this action to generate HTML on the fly (e.g., create product-catalog pages).
STATEMENT Returns a statement that the code executes with a Command object. You might use this action to execute statements that create or drop members.
DATASET Returns an MDX expression that the client application can execute to return a cellset in order to display additional data.
ROWSET Returns an MDX expression that the client application can execute to return a rowset (e.g., you can use this action to perform a drillthrough).
COMMAND_LINE Executes a command line. You can use this action to provide command-line parameters to an application (e.g., to bring up a Windows application that displays product information).
PROPRIETARY Returns a string that the application defines. You can query the column that the action returns to ensure that the receiving application is the intended recipient (e.g., you can initiate a process within a custom business application).
