Microsoft announced the winners of the 2000 Industry Solution Awards. Great Plains Software (Great Plains eEnterprise), Knosys (Knosys ProClarity), ON!contact Software (Client Management Software—CMS), Onyx Software (two awards: Onyx Employee Portal and Onyx 2000), Pivotal (Pivotal eRelationship 2000), Plumtree Software (Plumtree Corporate Portal), Sourcesmith Industries (Olympic Equipment Management Systems, used by NBC Olympics), and Webridge (Webridge Private Exchange) won awards in nine categories.
A panel of independent judges chose the winners for their effective customer-focused solutions using Microsoft technologies—Windows 2000 Server, SQL Server 2000, and the company's enterprise platform. Contestants competed in the fields of customer relationship management, business intelligence, knowledge management, and enterprise applications.
"Each of the winners and finalists deserves recognition for the benefits provided by the solution they have developed," said Stan Julien, the director of Customer-Centric Solutions at Microsoft. "It's exciting to see the results that are accomplished when the agility, speed, and enterprise-level reliability of Microsoft technology is coupled with the independent software vendor's approach to a specific business issue. We're proud to see this competitive spirit spawn such innovative and scalable applications."
